In May 2005, Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus was started by a group of women who wanted to be part of an innovative and exciting performing show chorus committed to musical excellence while promoting barbershop harmony, friendship, education, self-esteem and a sense of belonging among women of all ages, races, creeds and ethnicities.
We spent our first summer reaching out to surrounding communities and through those efforts, our chorus doubled in size! Our first performance was at the Portsmouth Blues Fest in August 2005, which was also the first time on stage for many of our members.
We received our charter in February 2006, and became an official chorus affiliated with Sweet Adelines, International.
In November 2006, our first stage production, The Ever After, was a huge success with our audiences!
RNH competed in our first contest in May 2007 and were honored to win 2nd Place Division A Chorus and our director received the Region One Novice Director Award!
